OMG its been a while since I've updated my blog! I apologize if anyone is actually reading this...
So what have I been up to? Well, I recently captured my first ever convention trophy at the last Wildwood Beach Bash Tattoo Convention this past Sept. Sure I've won other tattoo contests held at various bars, but this win makes me feel like a much more legit artist hahaha. Next up is the Atlantic City Tatttoo Convention otherwise known as the Drawin the Wildcard Tattoo Convention Oct. 12th, 13th, and 14th where I hope to bring home even more trophies. Also this October I will be taking some time off and heading down to Key West for a little R&R. Should be a good time. And at the studio we are again doing the Dynasty Tattoo coloring contest for all the kiddies stop on in and grab a coloring sheet for your little ones and participate for some awesome Halloween grab bags!
In other news I am now taking appointments for November and offering a discount to anyone who has unfinished work started by me. This offer is only good if you set up an appointment and will NOT be honored if you are a walk-in, so book those appointments now and get yer ish finished!

Updates, been a while....
Man either I've been busy or just a lazy asshole lol. But got some updates I'd figure I'd share.
Okay so the update on Nick Accordino aka New Jersey's Blood Borne Pathogen Certified home tattooist (in other words, I suck so bad I hack at my friends and anyone stupid enough to allow me to "tattoo" them). He has hidden all of his so called artwork as well as his pics of himself tatting away. But if ya want to see them, friend him on facebook by clicking on his name lol. Who knows he may have stopped, I highly doubt it but one can dream. And he's not the only one doing shitty home tattoos, here is an example from Vineland.

This was what this young lady approached me with, a really curvy tree that...
shoots straight through her neck to cover a small roman numeral date on her other shoulder. SMH
After cleaning up the outline and adding more texture I did a bunch of shading.
Instead of having the tree shoot into her neck I weaved it back and forth one last time.
This piece is far from being done it needs some more shading and we are going to turn the swoops underneath to water and maybe blend it into a koi (which also need a ton of help) located on her lower back. This is the difference between a house scratcher and a real artist.
So I'm sure if you live in Jersey then you know that we got hammered with these freak storms the last couple of weeks and they may have affected your lives. I feel for you if any of your property was damaged or worse. At Dynasty Tattoo we were lucky enough to have only been without power for one work day and our only casualties were a few of the aquarium inhabitants. I know if you lost work time or had to go buy a generator, do some repair work, lost a vehicle etc, that many of you have incurred mass expenses and can not come to get tattooed, I completely understand. But, for those who survived and are okay, I do have a bunch of openings for anyone wanting to get some kick ass new ink.

In other news... I recently acquired a fun new toy. I got myself a lowrider bike!
I'm planning on making a few upgrades and then having a photo shoot which I like to include one of my female clients. So if any of you young ladies would be interested in doing a shoot; most likely in a bikini along with me and my bike please hit me up at scottdoestattoos@gmail.com.

Some people say that nothing in this world is free. Well, I am again about to prove them wrong. For over a year one lucky person won a totally custom tattoo designed by me each and every month! And all they had to do to be that lucky person was to email me. It was just that simple! But sadly what started out as something fun to do ran me down.
Then I decided to offer a HUGE discount on large pieces. Full back pieces, full sleeves, etc. No half sleeves, no quarter sleeves! I’m talking about big custom designs created by me for the serious collector. This special caught on with a few people but not many. So I am now going to offer another outrageous concept.
A completely FREE sleeve or backpiece! You read it right. Not just a simple 5 by 7 inch piece done in two hours, but a full on sleeve or backpiece taking up serious time and energy on both my and your parts. Now as with the completely free tattoo give away since you will not be paying me for any of this tattoo the design will be completely MY idea. But rest assured there will be nothing vulgar or distasteful. Just good clean fun.
The last completely free tattoo I did was the make-up sleeve many of you have probably seen. Below is a picture of the tattoo. This situation will require you to sign a contract stating how you will complete the work and make yourself available for photo shoots, etc. This is only for serious people, this is not a joke.

One random winner will be chosen by Aug. 1st and notified via email if they’ve won. The tattoo will be done as all other free tattoos have been done; during week days between the hours of 12pm and 2pm. The sessions will be weekly. If you can not commit to such a schedule then PLEASE DO NOT ENTER! If you have unreliable transportation you might want to reconsider entering.
